a white delight

This home was a beautiful two story stucco with special details that I fell in love with the moment I drove up. With massive wisteria crowding the portico and doorway, one felt as if they were entering a very special private space. Sure enough, the lovely entry opened to a grand staircase and around the corner was a beautiful kitchen. The space just needed some love, and a little "je ne sais quoi." It had decent cabinetry with glass doors, but nothing that made you say "wow" or "beautiful". Well, not anymore! This clients vision for her kitchen included new marble tops and backsplash, upgraded appliances and best of all an over-sized truly custom island as the focal point to the space. Build as 4 pieces that fit together like a puzzle, the island accesses every bit of space, and looks as if it were meant to be showcased in this home. Together the elements this savvy client selected, transformed her kitchen into a stunning space for multiple people to use at the same time. The details in the large soffits are repeated in the columns on the island. Accessories, and paneled appliances (where possible) make the kitchen appear fitted and finished, creating a sense of elegance and a time gone by. White-on-white-on-white is anything but cold and boring here. Proof that a complete demo is not always necessary.
