1. CONSULTATION – The design process begins by meeting one another for an initial consultation - either face-to-face or by phone.  We will discuss your home, lifestyle and goals for the project. Budget and overall aesthetics, as well as specific ideas you have for the space.  I will collect everything we discuss and use it to form the foundation of your project. The most important thing to consider when creating your dream kitchen is your own likes and dislikes. Perhaps you have found kitchen images that strike you, or visited a friends kitchen and wondered if you could use some of the ideas they chose. Our discussions will distill the things that are your personal preferences, creating a clear vision. Value-engineering will take into account your project budget and overall style.  Then, products that meet your needs will beincorporated to maximize your goals. I begin by creating the right sense of space, using layout and flow. Then add colors that invite, and materials that will bring texture and pattern - creating the style you want to express and a space that gives you that “ahhh” feeling every time you enter.

  2. SITE VISIT/MEASURE - Next I will assess the potential of your space. Dimensions will be taken and we will discuss the possibilities for your new kitchen. Your site visit will also help Identify possible red flags regarding existing electrical, plumbing or HVAC. We’ll discuss your appliance needs and help you choose the best products for your lifestyle as well as directing you to local providers who will help guide you, and include delivery, install and after-sale support.

  3. INITIAL DESIGN & TWEAKING - At your next meeting I will present you with at least two design layouts for your new kitchen; using the actual dimensions, appliance choices, flooring, cabinet style and finish, and counter top ideas. Material finishes, sizes of appliances and how you use and live in your space will be discussed and the design will be modified to accommodate your needs.

  4. FINAL DESIGN LAYOUT & RENDERINGS -  Photo-realistic 3-D images of the space help it come to life - with rendered counter tops, backsplash, flooring and cabinetry so you will be able to "see" your kitchen from every view.

  5. DETAILED CABINET LAYOUT – The most important aspect of a new kitchen is how the cabinetry layout accommodates the way you will use your new space.  Clients love beautiful spaces, but the aesthetics must follow from the fact that a kitchen is, at its heart, a functional space that produces food, and comfort. Keeping this in mind, those aspects must be of central consideration regarding design. Having an expert with over 25 years of experience, and hundreds of kitchens, bathrooms and other spaces under her belt is key to making your experience a positive, exciting and desirable outcome. When your design is complete you can be confident that the foundation for your new space is set and the transformation is ready to begin.

  6. SELECTION AND SPECIFICATION OF ACCESSORY ITEMS – Cabinetry is the foundation of a kitchen, but items such as sinks, faucets, countertops, backsplash, decorative hardware, lighting, and flooring play support roles that cannot be downplayed.  Lush Kitchen Design provides not only design guidance and material suggestions, but also the best pricing possible to our clients for working through us to purchase these items. Working through a designer means the items selected not only work aesthetically, but that they are guaranteed to fit and function as intended. Put your confidence in a seasoned professional and no matter the obstacles we will be sure to overcome them, and arrive at a space you will be proud to call your own.
